Minister Saliyi and Mr McNeil, USA Legal Adviser, have expressed willingness to cooperate in the implementation of reforms in the judicial area  



Minister Saljii had a  meeting today  with the official legal adviser to the United States in Skopje, Mr. John McNeil.

Minister Saljiji thanked Mr. McNeil on his  visit and  on the offered assistance from the United States, and in this context, informed him about the steps taken by the Ministry of Justice regarding the implementation of reforms in the justice sector.

The Minister also informed Mr. McNeil about the latest amendments to the Law on Courts and the Law on the Judicial Council, the Law on Public Prosecution Office and the Law on the Council of Public Prosecutors, the amendments to the Criminal Code and the Law on Criminal Procedure.

The topic of the conversation was also the installation of audio and video equipment for recording in courtrooms.

Minister Salljiji informed Mr. McNeil about the installation of the equipment that is planned to be installed in the Basic Court Skopje 1, Skopje, for which the tender procedure was initiated, as well as the installation that should be carried out in cooperation with the Judicial Council in the courts with extended competence throughout the territory of Macedonia.

Mr. McNeil promised to support the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Macedonia for all projects that will help  the country's integration process.

Both parties agreed on further cooperation, as well as on exchange of experiences in this area.
